Personal data (usually referred to just as "data" below) will only be processed by us to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its contents, services offered and to respond to your enquiries.

Per Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the "GDPR"), "processing" refers to any operation or set of operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, or otherwise making available, alignment, or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction performed on personal data, whether by automated means or not.

The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of such data either under our own control or in conjunction with others. We also inform you below about the third-party components we use to optimize our website and improve the user experience which may result in said third parties also processing data they collect and control.

By registering for the Connected Value Chain Unconference (short: CVC), you accept the following terms and conditions and have read the privacy policy:

Registration & confirmation

Only registrations via the communicated event management tool are valid. A corresponding registration confirmation will be sent to you.

The registration is binding.

The organizer reserves the right e.g. to replace announced speakers or make necessary changes to the program, while preserving the overall character of the Unconference.

Registration fees & invoice

The participation fee is per person and event date. It includes conference documents and drinks. The event also includes lunch, unless otherwise stated in the event description.

In the case of paid events, according to the exemption regulation according to Art. § 4 No. 22 letter a UStG does not charge VAT.

For chargeable events, the billing will take place about eight days before the event to the specified billing address. Under certain circumstances, accounting can also take place after the event.

Arrivals and overnight stays are to be organized, booked and paid by the participant.

Cancellation & refund of registration fees

Cancellation of participation in a chargeable event must be sent by mail up to ten days before the event. In case of later cancellation or no-show, the full participation fee will be charged for events subject to a charge.

A substitute participant can be named without additional costs up to 30 hours before the start of the event.

Processing of the collected data

With your binding event registration, you consent to the processing of personal data relating to you for the purpose of conducting the event.

In accordance with article 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR), we will gladly inform you in detail about the processing of your personal data (hereinafter referred to as "data"). The EU GDPR has given us some meaningful obligations to ensure the protection of your data during processing. Below we explain what data we process for you and for what purposes

a) Purpose of processing

We process your data in accordance with Article 6 paragraph 1 lit. a) the EU-GDPR based on your consent by the request for an invitation for the event:

Creation of the list of potential participants (First name, last name, name of the company / institution)

Contact you for the invitation (First name, last name, Mail address)

Evaluate the intention and fit of the participation (Why would you like to participate?; How would you like to contribute?; Which topic(s) would you like to discuss?)

We process your data in accordance with Article 6 paragraph 1 lit. a) the GDPR based on your consent by the binding registration for the event:

Creation of the list of participants and name tags (last name, first name, name of the company / institution)

Contact you for further event-information (Mail address)

Billing (name, first name, employer)

b) Duration of processing

We only process your data for as long as it is necessary for the planning and final execution of the event or due to applicable legislation such as the retention of accounting documents is required. Should you wish the deletion of your data, we will delete your data immediately, as long as there are no legal storage requirements.

With regard to the data processing to be described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right

  • to confirmation of whether data concerning them is being processed, information about the data being processed, further information about the nature of the data processing, and copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);

  • to correct or complete incorrect or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);

  • to the immediate deletion of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 GDPR), or, alternatively, if further processing is necessary as stipulated in Art. 17 Para. 3 GDPR, to restrict said processing per Art. 18 GDPR;

  • to receive copies of the data concerning them and/or provided by them and to have the same transmitted to other providers/controllers (cf. also Art. 20 GDPR);

  • to file complaints with the supervisory authority if they believe that data concerning them is being processed by the controller in breach of data protection provisions (see also Art. 77 GDPR).

In addition, the controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it discloses data of any such corrections, deletions, or restrictions placed on processing the same per Art. 16, 17 Para. 1, 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, users have a right to information about these recipients.

Likewise, under Art. 21 GDPR, users and data subjects have the right to object to the controller's future processing of their data pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct advertising is permissible.


At the CVC unconference may be made photo, sound and film recordings that are published in various on- and offline media. These recordings are associated with the pictorial representation of persons present, with the selection of persons occurring at random. A representation of the images may take place on the homepage, print media and social media channels of the organizers. This also applies to events that are offered in cooperation with third parties.

Upon entering the event facility, the participant agrees to the free publication in the above manner and dissemination and / or unrestricted storage and accessibility of the recorded image, sound and film material in the context of the publicity work of the organizers. The personality rights are respected in any case.

If the participant in individual cases does not agree with the publication of his person, we ask for the immediate communication with the person in charge of the events.


Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, provided the deletion of the same is not in breach of any statutory storage obligations or unless otherwise stipulated below.


a) Session cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies stored on your computer by your browser. These cookies process certain specific information about you, such as your browser, location data, or IP address.  

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure, allowing us, for example, to display our website in different languages or to offer a shopping cart function.

If the processing does not serve to initiate or process a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis is then Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

When you close your browser, these session cookies are deleted.
